As part of its academic program aimed at preparing students and developing their professional skills in line with the requirements of the global labor market, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a training course entitled: “Advanced Financial Reporting and Presentation Skills in English.”
The course was held from Monday, February 16, 2026, to Wednesday, February 18, 2026, and directly targeted fourth-year students in the Accounting Department, as they are approaching graduation and preparing to join the banking sector and international investment companies. These activities were conducted under the patronage of the respected Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, who consistently emphasizes that the student is the fundamental pillar.
The course was delivered by Lecturer Ghaith Saleh Mahdi Al-Yasiri, who presented a set of advanced skills in preparing financial statements and reports according to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), with particular focus on specialized accounting terminology in English.
The course aimed to strengthen the confidence of fourth-year students and equip them with the tools necessary to compete in the labor market, where proficiency in English in financial fields has become essential. The course also witnessed strong engagement from students through practical applications and questions that reflected their eagerness to develop their professional capabilities.
This initiative comes as part of a series of scientific activities organized by the Deanship of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala to ensure the graduation of accounting professionals with high scientific competence and professional skills worthy of the university’s reputation and academic standing.
