To Prepare Graduating Students: The College of Administration and Economics Organizes a Course on the Principles and Methodology of Scientific Research Writing

In conjunction with the beginning of the semester dedicated to preparing graduation research projects, and in order to strengthen the scientific output of its students, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a specialized training course entitled: “The Method of Writing Scientific Research.”

The course was held from Tuesday, February 17, 2026, to Thursday, February 19, 2026, and directly targeted fourth-year students in all scientific departments, with the aim of providing them with the fundamental skills required to produce well-structured graduation research in accordance with internationally recognized academic standards.

The course was delivered by experienced faculty members in the field of scientific research and academic publishing, namely:

  • Dr. Zainab Hadi Nima
  • Assistant Lecturer Bashir Dohan

During the sessions, the lecturers emphasized the importance of scientific research as a fundamental pillar in the study of administration and economics, highlighting its role in developing students’ abilities in analysis, inference, and solving contemporary economic and administrative problems.

The course included practical topics covering all stages of research preparation, most notably:

  • Selecting the research problem and defining the title: how to choose realistic research topics that meet the needs of the labor market and society.
  • Structure of scientific research: a detailed explanation of how to write the research introduction, problem statement, significance, and objectives.
  • Previous studies and theoretical framework: how to search for scientific sources in academic databases and digital libraries and properly document information.
  • Methodology and practical aspects: selecting research samples, data collection tools, and statistical analysis methods.
  • Academic integrity and referencing: training students on citation systems and avoiding plagiarism.

The course aimed to remove the challenges faced by fourth-year students when starting their graduation projects and to provide them with the knowledge necessary to produce research that could be published or presented at student conferences. The sessions also witnessed significant interaction, as students presented their research titles and discussed implementation mechanisms with the lecturers.

This initiative comes within the vision of the college’s deanship to enhance the level of academic performance and ensure the graduation of qualified students capable of conducting scientific research and investigation, thereby contributing to improving the academic ranking of the college and the university in national and international classifications.
