The Statistics Department at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Karbala, organized a joyful celebration in honor of the blessed anniversary of Lady Zainab’s (peace be upon her) birthday, attended by several faculty members, staff, and undergraduate and graduate students.
The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem and a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in remembrance of the martyrs of Iraq. The Head of the Department, Dr. Bashar Khalid Ali, delivered a speech highlighting the life and legacy of Lady Zainab (peace be upon her), emphasizing her exemplary patience, faith, and steadfastness in the face of oppression, and stressing the importance of drawing lessons from her enduring stance to promote values of sacrifice, knowledge, and responsibility.
The celebration also included speeches, poetry, and devotional songs performed by several students, expressing their love and reverence for the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), creating an atmosphere of joy and festivity in honor of this special occasion.
At the conclusion of the event, the Head of the Department extended his gratitude to all participants and contributors for their efforts in making the event a success, praising the spirit of cooperation displayed by students and faculty in commemorating this blessed occasion that embodies faith, patience, and generosity.
