Abstract

The aim of this research is to diagnose the reality of total quality management in the medical laboratories of the Najaf Health Department, namely (the laboratory of the Public Health Department and the laboratory of the Najaf Teaching Hospital (German), and to identify the gap between the reality of the current medical laboratory work and the comprehensive quality management system represented by its five dimensions of During the application of the ISO standard (ISO: 15189: 2012), The researcher tried to rely on the contributions of specialized researchers and previous solid studies that looked at this field in order to reach the results of this research. Al-Najaf educational (German) community for research, and the research was based on two main axes, where the first axis was the variable of total quality management with its five dimensions, and the second axis of research was about the variable of medical laboratories represented by the application of the standard (ISO: 15189: 2012), A statistical method was used to analyze and diagnose the depth of the gap between the reality of work in medical laboratories and the variable of total quality by applying the standard (ISO: 15189: 2012). And the size of the gap, and the percentage of conformity of the information and data obtained from the research sample, and the research reached a conclusion that there is a knowledge scattering between the normal quality of work and the total quality management system in the application of the standard (ISO: 15189: 2012),The first method adopted in the research was the use of (check list), where the weaknesses and strengths were diagnosed, the size of the gap, and the matching percentage of information and data obtained from the research sample, while the second method was represented by using statistical control panels (X-chart). ), as the results showed that the medical laboratories of the research sample were some of them outside the limits of statistical control, due to the presence of some gaps in the application of the standard, Accordingly, a conclusion was reached that there is a cognitive dispersion between the normal quality of work and the total quality management system in the application of the standard (ISO: 15189: 2012). As for the conclusions and recommendations that he reached through the results, the most prominent of them was the publication and definition of what total quality management is as an integrated system. To manage the researched medical laboratories, spread the thought and culture of differentiating between the concept of work quality and the thought of quality management systems, and motivate the adoption of this philosophy in the management of medical laboratories in the laboratory of the Public Health Department, and the laboratory of the Najaf Teaching Hospital (German), affiliated to the Najaf Health Department.
