The Effect of T-Shaped employee skills in achieving Total Quality

Abstract

      The aim of the current research is to know and test the effect of T-shaped employee skills with their dimensions (cooperation and effective communication with colleagues, job adaptation, and continuous learning) on total quality with its dimensions (top management support, strategic planning, customer focus, operations management, human resources management, and continuous improvement). The beginning of the current research was from a problem represented by a set of questions, the most important of which was ((To what extent does the T-shaped employee skills effect on total quality in its dimensions)). In order to answer the research questions and achieve its objectives, the General Directorate of Education in the Holy Karbala Governorate was chosen as a field for implementing the research, from whom a sample was chosen, consisting of administrative employees numbering (306) employees, to whom the questionnaire form was distributed. (287) questionnaires were retrieved, of which (272) were suitable for statistical analysis, with a response rate of (89%). The responses of the research sample were analyzed using the statistical program (SPSS V.24). The research reached a set of conclusions, the most important of which was the existence of a significant effect of T-shaped employee skills in enhancing total quality. These results shed light on the need to support and encourage employees working in the General Directorate of Education in the Holy Karbala Governorate under research to improve and develop their skills. These skills can be key to achieving sustainable improvement in educational quality and achieving the future goals of the directorate in improving teaching and learning. The most important recommendations were that if the General Directorate of Education in the Holy Karbala Governorate under discussion wants to achieve total quality, it is strongly recommended to rely on the T-shaped employee skills as they represent the basis for improving operations and raising the level of performance. The results of the research showed that this type of skills could be a catalyst for enhancing total quality in all aspects of work, by enhancing the ability to solve problems, make effective decisions, and innovative thinking.
