College of Administration and Economics – University of Karbala / Department of Accounting Holds a Workshop Entitled (H-index Factor and How to Increase It)

As part of its ongoing scientific activities and its commitment to developing the research skills of faculty members and researchers, the Department of Accounting at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Karbala, organized a specialized training workshop titled “H-index Factor and How to Increase It”, with the participation of a number of faculty members and postgraduate students.

The workshop was delivered by a distinguished group of the college’s professors, namely:

  • Professor Dr. Salah Mahdi Al-Kawwaz
  • Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Hassan
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Hussam Mohammed Ali
  • Lecturer Dr. Anmar Adnan Khudair
  • Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Abdul Hussein Ali

The workshop covered an introduction to the H-index factor and its importance as one of the key global indicators for evaluating researchers’ productivity and quality, along with methods for calculating it through various academic platforms such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science. The lectures also focused on effective strategies to enhance the H-index by improving the quality of scientific publications, selecting reputable journals, increasing the number of citations, and engaging in impactful academic activities.

Additionally, the workshop included practical demonstrations and real-world examples on how to register research papers in international databases and strategies for increasing scientific citations, as well as sharing personal academic experiences by the lecturers regarding their journey in boosting their research metrics.

At the conclusion of the workshop, a discussion session was held with the attendees, during which many questions and inquiries were raised, enriching the topic and enhancing participant engagement. The attendees expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the lecturers for the valuable information and practical guidance provided.

This workshop comes as part of the Department of Accounting’s continuous efforts within the College of Administration and Economics to support the progress of scientific research and strengthen the academic and research capabilities of its members, in line with global academic quality standards.
