As part of its ongoing efforts to prepare students and equip them with the tools of entrepreneurship and self-employment, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a specialized training course entitled: “How to Use Economic Skills to Ensure the Success of Projects.”
The course was held from Monday, February 16, 2026, to Wednesday, February 18, 2026, and directly targeted undergraduate students, aiming to introduce them to ways of transforming academic ideas into successful and sustainable economic projects in real-world settings.
The course was delivered by distinguished faculty members from the college:
- Lecturer Dr. Ghsoon Kazem
- Assistant Lecturer Huda Mahdi
The lecturers presented a comprehensive perspective on linking economic theory with practical application in the business environment, focusing on the skills required for a successful entrepreneur in both local and international markets.
The course covered several strategic topics aimed at empowering students, most notably:
- Economic analysis skills: how to study the market and analyze supply and demand to ensure project feasibility.
- Resource management: the optimal use of financial and human resources to reduce waste and maximize profits.
- Economic decision-making: equipping students with the necessary tools to make decisions based on accurate data amid changing economic conditions.
- Innovation and entrepreneurship: how to differentiate projects and offer added value that ensures sustainability and competitiveness in the market.
The course aimed to instill a spirit of initiative among students and change the traditional perception of employment by encouraging them to move beyond conventional jobs and develop critical economic thinking skills. The sessions witnessed strong interaction, as students presented hypothetical project ideas and discussed ways to make them economically viable, adding a practical and dynamic dimension to the training.
This initiative comes as part of a series of scientific activities regularly organized by the college’s deanship, aimed at graduating a generation of young people capable of contributing to the national economy through successful entrepreneurial projects built on solid scientific foundations.
