University of Karbala – College of Administration and Economics / Psychological and Educational Counseling Unit Organizes a Workshop Titled (Emotional Intelligence and Self-Confidence: Tools for Self-Actualization)

As part of its developmental activities aimed at enhancing students’ personal and academic skills, the Psychological and Educational Counseling Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Karbala, organized a training workshop titled “Emotional Intelligence and Self-Confidence: Tools for Self-Actualization”, with wide participation from students and faculty members.

The workshop was presented by a distinguished group of the college’s professors, namely:

  • The Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Hashim Jabbar Al-Husseini
  • Assistant Professor Dr. Doreen Benjamin Hormuz
  • Assistant Lecturer Somaya Abdullah Jasim

The workshop opened with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the College, who emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence and self-confidence in shaping the personality of university students and empowering them to achieve their academic and professional ambitions. He pointed out that academic success does not rely solely on knowledge acquisition but also requires well-rounded personal skills.

The workshop lectures covered several key themes, including:

  • The concept of emotional intelligence and its various dimensions
  • The importance of understanding and effectively managing personal emotions
  • Building and enhancing students’ self-confidence
  • How to utilize emotional intelligence and self-confidence as tools for achieving personal and professional goals
  • Practical applications and interactive exercises to strengthen the acquired skills

The workshop witnessed great interaction from the attendees, who showed keen interest in the topics presented and actively participated in the practical activities and discussion sessions, which added a lively and productive atmosphere to the event.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the Psychological and Educational Counseling Unit extended its thanks and appreciation to the esteemed presenters for their outstanding efforts in enriching the workshop with valuable information and experiences. The Unit reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to offer training programs that contribute to honing students’ skills and developing their personal and social abilities.
