Assistant Professor Dr. Hashem Jabbar Al-Husseini, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala, participated as a member of the PhD dissertation committee for the candidate Muhannad Jameel Waheed Al-Obaidi at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Anbar, on Sunday, May 25, 2025.
Dr. Al-Husseini’s participation came in response to an official invitation from the University of Anbar, in recognition of his distinguished academic reputation and expertise in the field of economics.
The dissertation was entitled:
“Measuring the Impact of Fiscal Sustainability on Selected Sustainable Development Indicators for a Group of Countries with a Special Focus on Iraq”
The study aimed to analyze the relationship between fiscal sustainability and sustainable development through an empirical investigation involving a group of countries, with special attention to the Iraqi context and a comparison of its performance against global indicators.
During the defense session, Dr. Al-Husseini provided insightful scientific feedback and contributed to enriching the academic discussion on the key themes of the study. He posed a set of questions that delved into the research methodology, findings, and recommendations.
At the conclusion of the session, the committee commended the student for the scientific effort exerted in preparing the dissertation and decided to award him the PhD degree.
This participation reflects the College of Administration and Economics – University of Karbala’s commitment to strengthening academic and scientific collaboration with Iraqi universities and supporting research development and the advancement of national expertise in the fields of economics and administration.
