As part of its ongoing scientific and cultural efforts to promote legal and human rights awareness, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala held a scientific seminar entitled:
“Types of Human Rights in International Charters,”
on Monday, June 23, 2025, in the college’s conference hall.
The seminar highlighted key classifications of human rights as recognized in international law and reviewed the most significant charters and treaties that established these rights. It also addressed the historical and political developments that accompanied the emergence of the concept and its global expansion.
The seminar was presented by:
- Assistant Professor Dr. Muntadher Imran Naji
- Assistant Professor Dr. Ayoob Jassim Mohammed
- Assistant Lecturer Zainab Abdul-Hussein Hassan
The scientific discussions covered civil and political rights, economic, social, and cultural rights, as well as the rights of special groups. Mechanisms for protecting these rights at the international level were also discussed, along with the role of the United Nations and non-governmental organizations.
The event was attended by several faculty members and postgraduate students. It saw notable interaction from the audience through discussions and comments that enriched the seminar’s content and emphasized the importance of spreading human rights awareness across all segments of society.
This seminar is part of a series of activities undertaken by the college to promote the values of justice, freedom, and equality, and to strengthen the university’s role in serving social and humanitarian issues.
