As part of its training programs aimed at developing students’ scientific and practical skills, the Department of Finance and Banking at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Karbala organized a training course titled “AI Horizons in Banking Operations” from 14 to 16 October 2025.
The course targeted undergraduate students in the Finance and Banking Department, aiming to introduce them to the latest trends and practical applications of artificial intelligence in the banking sector, highlighting its role in improving financial services, enhancing operational efficiency, and enabling smart decision-making in banking institutions.
Lecturers of the course included:
- Assistant Professor Dr. Noor Salah Abdul Nabi
- Assistant Professor Dr. Noor Sabah Al-Dahan
- Assistant Professor Dr. Hadeer Khayoun Ashour
The course covered several key topics, including:
- Applications of AI in analyzing banking data
- The role of machine learning techniques in detecting financial fraud
- The use of intelligent robots in customer service and risk management
The lecturers emphasized the importance of keeping up with technological developments in the financial sector, as they have a direct impact on improving operational efficiency and achieving digital transformation in Iraqi banking institutions.
At the end of the course, a discussion session was held, allowing students to share their opinions and questions, demonstrating strong engagement and keen interest in the role of artificial intelligence in their future banking careers.
