The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala Organizes a Training Course Titled“Using Mendeley Software for Referencing in Scientific Research”

The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala organized a specialized training course titled “Using Mendeley Software for Referencing in Scientific Research” from November 3 to 5, 2025, with the participation of a number of the college’s staff and faculty members.

The course was delivered by a team of specialists:

  • Prof. Ahmed Abdullah Amanah
  • Asst. Prof. Dr. Nebras Kazem Abd
  • Prof. Sahar Abbas

The course focused on explaining the technical and scientific aspects of using Mendeley to organize and manage scientific sources, as well as facilitating the process of inserting citations and formatting reference lists according to internationally recognized styles.

The course included several practical topics, such as:

  • How to create an account and use the program interface.
  • Uploading and organizing sources within the electronic library.
  • Inserting citations into research texts using Mendeley Cite.
  • Automatically formatting the reference list according to different documentation styles.
  • Methods for synchronizing files and maintaining the research library across multiple devices.

The course also featured hands-on training sessions that enabled participants to interact with the software directly and learn how to use it efficiently and accurately in preparing scientific papers and studies.

This course comes as part of the College of Administration and Economics’ efforts to develop the skills of academic and administrative staff and equip them with modern tools that contribute to enhancing the quality of scientific research within the university.
