The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala Organizes a Training Workshop for Fourth-Year Students on Self-Introduction and Building a Positive Impression

The Department of Financial and Banking Sciences at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Karbala organized a training workshop titled “Introducing Yourself with Confidence: Two Minutes to Make Your Professional Impression”, specifically for fourth-year students, on Monday, December 15, 2025.

The workshop was delivered by Prof. Amir Ali Khalil Al-Mousawi, Head of the Scientific Committee in the department and Director of the Science and Technology Gardens Department at the University Presidency, with the participation of several faculty members and fourth-year students.

The workshop aimed to develop students’ skills in presenting themselves professionally and effectively by training them to give a concise self-introduction within two minutes, helping to create a strong and positive first impression during job interviews, academic meetings, and professional settings. The workshop also covered key topics such as communication skills, body language, organizing ideas, and building self-confidence while speaking.

The presenter emphasized the importance of students possessing personal and communication skills alongside academic achievement, highlighting that these skills are essential for success in the job market and for increasing future employment opportunities. The workshop witnessed active student participation through discussions, interactions, and practical exercises.

This workshop aligns with the recommendations of the Second Jobs Conference organized by the College of Administration and Economics on December 1, 2025, which emphasized the need to professionally prepare final-year students by developing their personal and practical skills to enhance their readiness for entering the workforce.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the organizers affirmed the college’s and the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences’ commitment to continuing the organization of workshops and training courses aimed at refining students’ skills and building their professional personalities, in line with the vision and academic and societal mission of the University of Karbala.
