During the sessions, the lecturers presented a comprehensive perspective on how environmental challenges can be transformed into successful investment opportunities that contribute to preserving natural resources while ensuring economic profitability.
The course included discussions on several strategic themes aimed at building a “green entrepreneurial” mindset among students, most notably:
- The concept of green entrepreneurship: introducing students to the difference between traditional entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship that prioritizes environmental sustainability.
- Sustainable innovation: how to develop products and services that reduce carbon emissions and rely on recycling waste.
- Green economy and development: the role of small and medium-sized green enterprises in supporting the national economy and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
- Sustainable project planning: feasibility study tools for projects that take environmental and social standards into account.
The course aimed to equip undergraduate students with the skills needed to become leaders in the field of green business, emphasizing that the future of employment and entrepreneurship is increasingly moving toward projects that respect and protect the environment. The course also included presentations of successful green entrepreneurial projects from around the world and locally, in order to inspire creativity among participants.
