As part of the rigorous academic preparations for major scholarly events, the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala hosted a consultative session of the scientific committee for the “Second Karbala Scholars Conference,” with the participation of a distinguished group of academics and researchers.

The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Hashem Al-Shammari, who emphasized at the outset the importance of this conference in highlighting the scientific and cultural heritage of the holy city of Karbala, as well as the role of scholars in enriching Islamic and human thought.

During the session, the scientific committee reviewed several key strategic issues, including:

  • Evaluation of Research Papers: Establishing precise academic standards for accepting and reviewing submitted papers to ensure their quality and rigor.
  • Defining Research Themes: Discussing the main conference topics, covering areas such as jurisprudence, economics, history, and administrative sciences related to the thought of Karbala scholars.
  • Timeline Planning: Finalizing schedules for abstract submissions, setting the conference date, and distributing tasks among subcommittees.

For his part, the Dean of the College affirmed, during his meeting with the committee, the college’s commitment to providing all logistical and technical support necessary to ensure the success of the conference, stemming from the university’s responsibility to promote knowledge exchange and highlight the scientific identity of Karbala.

The session concluded with important recommendations aimed at enhancing the excellence of the conference’s second edition, emphasizing the need to broaden research participation to include scholars from various Iraqi and international universities.
