The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala Organizes a Training Workshop Titled “Educating Students on Research Ethics and Arabic Language Proficiency”

The Department of Statistics at the College of Administration and Economics – University of Karbala organized a training workshop entitled “Educating Students on Research Ethics and Arabic Language Proficiency”, as part of its ongoing series of scientific activities aimed at enhancing students’ research and academic skills and improving the quality of scientific writing in Arabic.

The workshop targeted faculty members of the department and postgraduate students and aimed to achieve the following objectives:

  • Introduce participants to the methodological foundations of scientific research, including the steps of preparing and designing a research study in a structured and scholarly manner.
  • Explain academic writing techniques, with an emphasis on organizing ideas logically and supporting them with scientific evidence.
  • Emphasize the importance of proper Arabic language usage in scientific output, ensuring that research papers are free of linguistic and grammatical errors, thereby reflecting a high academic standard.

The workshop was presented by a group of specialized faculty members in the fields of scientific research and Arabic language:

  • Dr. Salah Mahdi Jabir (Assistant Professor)
  • Ms. Ensaf Jasim Mahdi (Lecturer)
  • Ms. Zahraa Adel Abdul Rahim (Lecturer)

The instructors delivered interactive lectures covering key concepts in scientific research preparation, in addition to practical examples demonstrating how to write academic research correctly, with a focus on language accuracy and scientific style.

The workshop witnessed fruitful academic engagement from participants, including constructive discussions on the main challenges researchers face when preparing academic studies and ways to overcome them. Participants showed strong interest in developing their research skills in alignment with the requirements of rigorous scientific writing.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the Head of the Department of Statistics thanked the speakers and participants for their valuable engagement, stressing the importance of continuing to organize such training workshops to enhance academic performance and promote high-quality scientific research.
