The College of Administration and Economics – University of Karbala Organizes a Training Course Titled: “Financial Sustainability”

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Karbala, the Department of Financial and Banking Sciences organized a training course titled “Financial Sustainability,” held from October 12 to 14, 2025, with the participation of undergraduate students in the department.

The course aimed to introduce students to the concept of financial sustainability and its importance in achieving economic stability for public and private institutions. It also highlighted ways to manage financial resources efficiently to ensure the continuity of financial performance without compromising future capacities.

The course was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Abbas Abdullah and Dr. Shaimaa Hadi Naama, covering key topics such as principles of sound financial management, mechanisms to balance revenues and expenditures, and the importance of sustainable financing in supporting economic development.

The course also included practical discussions on the challenges facing financial sustainability in governmental and banking sectors and ways to address them through long-term financial planning and the use of financial performance analysis tools.

At the conclusion of the course, the instructors emphasized the importance of instilling a culture of financial sustainability among financial and banking students, given its pivotal role in preparing a conscious generation capable of contributing to sustainable economic development.

This course is part of a series of scientific and training activities organized by the College of Administration and Economics to develop students’ capabilities and enhance their practical and theoretical knowledge in line with labor market requirements.
